About the Communiti SMS Program

Program Operator: communiti.life, PBC

Effective Date: May 30, 2026

Communiti is a communication platform used by churches, schools, and nonprofit organizations to share announcements with people who have explicitly opted in to receive them. These terms govern the SMS messages Communiti sends on behalf of those organizations.

How You Opt In

You opt in to receive SMS messages from a specific organization on a public opt-in web page that the organization shares with you — for example https://outreach.communiti.life/join/3. No account or login is required to open or complete it. On that page you enter your name and mobile number and choose how you want to receive updates (text, voice, or email). To receive text messages you must check a dedicated, initially-unchecked SMS consent box; SMS is never pre-selected, and choosing SMS is optional.

You can also opt in from inside the Communiti web or mobile app, on your organization’s Broadcasts page, using the same affirmative, unchecked SMS consent step.

By checking the SMS consent box, you are providing express written consent to receive recurring automated SMS messages from that organization via Communiti. Consent is not required as a condition of joining, purchasing any goods or services, or anything else. If you have previously texted STOP, you can resume by replying START, YES, or SUBSCRIBE.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies by organization and program. Typical programs send 1–10 messages per week. Some programs (e.g. youth camp updates, prayer requests) may send more during active events.

Cost

Communiti does not charge subscribers for sending or receiving messages. However, Msg & Data Rates May Apply based on your wireless carrier and plan. Check with your wireless provider for details.

We share your information only with the specific organization whose list you opted in to, and with service providers (such as Twilio) required to deliver the messages you have consented to receive.
