Terms of Service

Last Updated: February 13, 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

Welcome to communiti.life ("Communiti," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.

Effective Date: February 13, 2026

2. Description of Service

Communiti is a social media platform designed for churches, schools, nonprofits, and community organizations. Our platform provides:

  • Social networking features (posts, comments, messages, reactions)
  • Communiti and community management tools
  • Accountability relationships with age-appropriate oversight
  • AI-powered content moderation and safeguarding
  • Broadcast messaging for communiti communications

3. Our Philosophy: Coaching, Not Catching

Communiti is a coaching platform, not a catching platform. This distinction is fundamental to understanding our approach to safety and accountability.

We help people understand where the lines of acceptable communication and healthy boundaries are, so that we—collectively—don't interact in ways that would allow predators to harm children and vulnerable individuals.

Our AI systems flag content and interactions not to identify predators, but to identify patterns of behavior that allow predators to operate. By eliminating these behavioral patterns before opportunities for harm can exist, we create an environment where:

  • Prevention over punishment: We help users course-correct before harm occurs, rather than waiting to catch bad actors after the damage is done
  • Education over enforcement: We teach healthy communication boundaries rather than just punishing violations
  • Community protection: By eliminating the conditions that predators exploit, we protect everyone—especially children and vulnerable individuals
  • Transparency over surveillance: Accountability relationships are voluntary, visible, and designed to support healthy development

Traditional platforms wait for harm then react. We believe it's better to prevent harm from ever occurring.

7. SMS and Voice Messaging Terms

Communiti offers SMS text messaging and voice calling as part of our broadcast communication services for churches, schools, and community organizations. By providing your phone number and opting in to receive messages, you agree to the following terms:

7.1 Consent to Receive Messages

By providing your mobile phone number to Communiti and opting in to messaging, you expressly consent to receive recurring SMS text messages and/or voice calls from Communiti and the organizations you are a member of. Messages may include:

  • Broadcast announcements from your organizations (church announcements, school alerts, community updates)
  • Emergency notifications and safety alerts
  • Event reminders and schedule updates
  • Account verification and security codes
  • Prayer chain and care group notifications

Consent is not a condition of purchase or use of Communiti. You may use the platform without opting in to SMS or voice messages.

7.2 Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on the organizations you belong to and the broadcast preferences you configure. You may receive multiple messages per week depending on your organization's activity level. Emergency broadcasts may be sent at any time.

7.3 Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Communiti does not charge for sending messages, but your mobile carrier may charge standard messaging and data rates. Check with your wireless carrier for details about your plan.

7.4 How to Opt Out (STOP)

You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by:

  • Replying STOP to any message you receive from us. You may also reply CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, END, or QUIT.
  • Updating your broadcast preferences in your account settings under Settings → Broadcast Preferences
  • Contacting us at support@communiti.life

After opting out, you will receive a one-time confirmation message. You will not receive further SMS messages unless you opt back in. Opting out of SMS does not affect in-app notifications or email communications.

7.5 How to Get Help (HELP)

For help with SMS messaging, reply HELP to any message you receive from us, or contact us at support@communiti.life. You will receive a response with program information and support contact details.

7.6 Voice Calls

Organizations may send voice broadcast calls for announcements, emergencies, and prayer chains. Voice calls are delivered to the phone number on your account. You can manage your voice call preferences in your broadcast settings. Emergency voice calls may override quiet hours when enabled by your organization.

7.7 Supported Carriers

Our messaging services are available on all major US wireless carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and most regional carriers. Carrier support is not guaranteed, and messaging availability may vary by carrier and device.

7.8 Privacy and Data Use

Your phone number and messaging data are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number or opt-in data with third parties for their marketing purposes. Phone numbers are shared only with our messaging service provider (Twilio) for the sole purpose of delivering messages you have opted in to receive.

8. Legal Recourse for Harmful Conduct

This section is critical. Please read carefully.

If you use Communiti to harm, stalk, groom, harass, abuse, or otherwise injure any person, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You may be held legally liable for all damages caused by your conduct, including but not limited to compensatory damages, statutory damages, and punitive damages where permitted by law
  • Communiti reserves the right to pursue legal action against you for reputational harm, costs of investigation and remediation, legal fees, and any other damages suffered as a result of your conduct
  • You agree to indemnify Communiti for any claims, damages, losses, legal fees, or expenses arising from your harmful conduct on the platform
  • We will cooperate fully with law enforcement and may report your conduct and provide all relevant information to authorities
  • Your account will be immediately terminated and you will be permanently banned from the platform

By using Communiti, you consent to these terms as a condition of access. We take the safety of our community—especially children and vulnerable individuals—with the utmost seriousness.

This provision shall survive termination of your account and these Terms.

9. Accountability Framework

Communiti operates on a voluntary, transparent accountability model designed to support healthy digital relationships. By using our platform, you understand and agree that:

  • You may establish accountability relationships with other users (guardian-child, guardian-youth, spouse, accountability partner, supervisor)
  • Accountability partners have visibility into your content based on the agreed-upon oversight level—this is transparent and visible to you
  • AI systems analyze content to identify patterns of behavior that could lead to harm, flagging content for coaching and course-correction
  • Flagged content is reviewed to help users understand and maintain healthy communication boundaries
  • Staff-minor communications automatically include guardians (per Oklahoma HB 3958 compliance)
  • All accountability actions are logged for transparency—there is no secret monitoring
  • Children ages 8-12 must have full visibility guardian oversight as a condition of using the platform

10. Content Moderation

Consistent with our "coaching, not catching" philosophy, we use AI-powered content analysis to:

  • Identify patterns of communication that could lead to harmful situations
  • Flag content for review to help users understand healthy boundaries
  • Provide coaching opportunities before problematic patterns escalate
  • Remove content that violates our policies or applicable law
  • Suspend or terminate accounts of users who repeatedly violate community standards or engage in harmful conduct
  • Report illegal activity to appropriate authorities when required

You may appeal moderation decisions through our support process.
