How members opt in and out of SMS and voice broadcast messages
Communiti is a platform used by churches, schools, and nonprofits to communicate with their members. Broadcasts allow community leaders to send important announcements, prayer requests, event reminders, and emergency notifications to opted-in members via SMS text message, voice call, email, and in-app notification.
SMS consent is collected in a separate, optional step that the member can skip or decline entirely. Declining SMS does not limit access to Communiti or to broadcasts — members who decline still receive broadcasts in-app and (if they choose) by voice call.
Organization administrators may also invite members to opt in by sending an in-app notification with an opt-in prompt. The member must still complete the same two-step process above; an administrator cannot enable SMS for a member.

Step 1 — Broadcast opt-in (does not enable SMS):

Opt-In to BroadcastsOpting in enables in-app notifications (plus voice calls for emergencies). It does not subscribe you to SMS text messages — SMS is a separate, optional choice you can make afterward. Opting in is not required to use Communiti.
Step 2 — Optional SMS consent (unchecked by default, may be declined):
SMS is optional and off by default. You can leave every SMS box unchecked and still receive broadcasts in-app or by voice call.

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Message frequency varies by community — typically 1-10 messages per week. Communiti does not charge members for receiving broadcast messages.
