Our Commitment

Communiti.life is a community platform built for churches, schools, and nonprofits that serve families and children. Protecting minors from sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) is not an add-on feature — it is foundational to our platform. Every feature we build considers child safety from the ground up.

We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any form of child exploitation on our platform.

Content Moderation

All user-generated content passes through a multi-layer AI-powered moderation pipeline before it reaches other users. This applies to posts, comments, direct messages, group messages, and uploaded media.

Text Analysis

Every text message and post is analyzed in real-time using AI moderation models that detect harmful content including sexually explicit material, hate speech, harassment, and content that targets or endangers minors.

Image Moderation

All uploaded images are scanned using multiple AI systems including AWS Rekognition for explicit content detection, AI vision analysis for contextual understanding, and optical character recognition (OCR) to detect harmful text within images. Images that violate our standards are blocked before they can be shared.

CSAM Detection

We employ dedicated CSAM detection scanning on all uploaded media. Any detected CSAM is immediately blocked, the content is preserved for law enforcement reporting, and the user account is flagged for review. We report all confirmed CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by law.

Video Content

Video uploads are subject to the same moderation standards as images and text. Video content is scanned for explicit material and harmful content before being made available to other users.

Grooming Detection

Communiti includes a dedicated AI-powered grooming detection system that monitors conversations between adults and minors on the platform. This system:

Grooming detection operates independently from content moderation and cannot be disabled by users or organization administrators.

Accountability Relationships

Our platform supports structured accountability relationships designed to protect minors:

Background Checks

Communiti provides built-in background check integration for organizations to verify volunteers, staff, and anyone who works with children. Organizations can:

Identity Verification

Our multi-level identity verification system helps ensure that users are who they claim to be:

Organizations can require minimum verification levels for membership, particularly for roles involving contact with minors.

Minor Account Protections

Accounts belonging to minors (under 18) have additional protections:

Reporting

Users can report concerning content or behavior through the platform. All reports are reviewed by designated safeguarding personnel. We cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations related to child safety.

Data Retention for Safety

When a user deactivates their account, we soft-delete their content (posts, messages, comments) but retain identity information (name, email, phone) and any safeguarding records (grooming flags, moderation history, CSAM reports). This ensures that safety records remain available for ongoing or future investigations.
